For the year 2014, Nobel Prize for Peace has been announced to two persons viz. Malala Yousafzai (Pakistan) and Kailash Satyarthi (India). Though Nobel Prize for Peace has been awarded for many persons/institutions during the past, the prize for the year 2014 has become more significant in respect of the cause for which the awardees, strived for. Malala Yousafzai, 17 year old girl has been awarded for her commitment and contribution in the field of child rights. She was shot by the religious fundamentalists two years ago for advocating the right of girls to education. Kailash Satyarthi, a 60 year old electrical engineer was recognized for the award for his life’s mission to remove various factors including poverty, which militate against children’s education. For both the awardees, the focus of their cause is ‘Education’ which is the eye opener for the individual enlightenment, economic prosperity and ultimately the progress of human civilization. Kailash Satyarthi’s mindset is not religious and he said :“I am not a religious person. I have not gone to a temple or mosque in the last 40 years. I don’t worship in temples because I worship children – by giving them freedom and childhood.” Both Kailash and Malala are not against god but they focussed themselves on human cause .It must be expressed in service to suffering humanity. That is the message underlying in the recognition of Malala and Kailash Satyarthi for the award of Nobel Peace Prize 2014. ‘Forget God ; Think of Human’. Let the message be meaningfully spread for the betterment and prosperity of humanity!

Religion is like a pair of shoes on a child – at first, they are new, give foundation to the child’s steps, helps them explore the world. But after a while, they outgrow the shoes and get new ones – better ones, bigger ones. The “child” species we were is slowly growing into an adult, and those shoes are starting to become too tight and worn out for many .You outgrow and move on. But many choose to keep religion and limit themselves… keeping their old ways. The day people begin to realise the true beauty of life without the shadow cast upon it by religion will be a huge victory for the human species.
I feel like, God expects me to be human. I feel like, God doesn't look at me and wish that I were something else, because He likes me just this way. I feel like, God doesn't want me to close my eyes and pray for Him to make me holy or for Him to make me pure; because He made me human. I feel like, God already knows I'm human...it is I who needs to learn that.My first world is humanity. My second world is humanism. And, I live in the third world being merely a human. I’m proud to be human. We're nothing but human.Consider why you are the religion that you are. You are the religion you are for the most part because of your ancestry. Had you been born to another family of another religion…. you would believe that religion. Not only would you believe it, you would believe it to be the one, the only true religion. We think too much and feel too little...More than machinery we need humanity...More than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness ...Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost. You are not machines. You are not cattle...You have the love of humanity in your hearts. In this world there is room for everyone and the earth is rich and can provide for everyone...We all want to live by each other’s happiness, not by each other's misery...We don’t want to hate and despise one another. We all want to help one another, human beings are like that...You the people have the power.. the power to create machines.. the power to create happiness...You the people have the power to make life free and beautiful..To make this life a wonderful adventure...
Every person has got social duties to perform. They have to be performed properly. Tamil
culture advocates that every person must possess concern for the society. “All places are our native; all people are our kin.” The ancient Tamil Sangam literature preached this. Every person has to become a self-thinker.For that,We all “Forget god for the time being; and Think of Human” from today!Besides, studying science, people must develop scientific temper.A teacher who is teaching astronomy in class room is taking divine bath during the period of solar, lunar eclipse by believing that the raghu snake is swallowing either moon or sun. This sort of dubious life is to be avoided!!.We have to live. We have to allow others to live also. Belief in an obscure and orthodox system never allows one to think innovatively for the betterment of the society.it must be free of the restrictions of thought and act.Religious leaders do not allow their followers to think. There is no freedom of thought. When you are capable of understanding and solving your problems, why do you go to gods and god men asking for a solution?
